What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is a form of online advertising that rewards website owners or publishers (affiliates) for promoting other e-commerce websites (advertisers). It is FREE to join the dgm Australia affiliate network. Affiliates are paid when a visitor arrives on their site and clicks through an affiliate link to the advertisers site, usually via a banner and then performs a transaction on the advertiser's site. Affiliates are rewarded by either a percentage of the sale amount, or a set amount of commission per sale. |
What is a campaign? Advertisers join the dgm Australia affiliate network and they run campaigns on the dgmPro system which affiliates can join. |
How do I join the dgm Australia affiliate network? Simply go to www.dgmpro.com click on the Australian flag and fill in the short application form. Once you submit your application you will receive an automated email from dgmPro asking you to validate your email address. Your application will be assessed within 48 hours on working days. Once approved to the network apply to join the campaigns that you wish to promote and once approved the banners and text links will appear. Please be aware of our terms and conditions. |
Is my site eligible to become a dgm Australia affiliate? We will accept a wide variety of sites into our network to cater for the wide variety of campaigns we have on our network. However, we reserve the right to refuse any site that does not comply with our terms and conditions. We will not accept applications for sites under construction. |
Do I need approval to join each campaign? The advertiser and/or dgm Australia will need to authorise your website prior to promoting a campaign. This is so we can ensure the ads are appearing on relevant sites. The approval process usually takes no more than one week, though for finance campaigns this can be longer. |
Can I register more than one of my sites/URL's in my dgmPro account? You can list all the sites/URL’s that you manage in your one dgmPro account. By listing all the URL’s that you manage we will gain a greater understanding of what campaigns your sites are suitable for. To add more URL’s to your account simply click on the ‘My details’ tab at the top of pro then select ‘edit’ where the option to add URL’s will appear. ![]() |
What technical skills do affiliates need to have? Affiliates need to be able to copy and paste in the dgmPro banner and text link codes into the source of their webpage (HTML) and understand how to test if the link is working by clearing the cookies in their browser and checking that the dgmPro 's2d6' cookie was dropped. |
How do I get my banners and code? Once you have applied and been approved to a campaign, you can retrieve the banners, code etc. by visiting Manage > Manage Creative > Browse Creative. Here you can filter the list of creative by category, Advertiser, size or type. Once you have found the creative that you want, click “get code” or assign the creative to an existing content unit. Alternatively you can pull the banners and text links by clicking the on ‘t’ and ‘b’ in the campaign. |
How does dgm track visitors' actions? All Affilaites are given a personal ID number when they join dgmPro. Your ID number is included in all the advertiser links you download. If one of your visitors performs an action on an advertisers site, the dgm cookie which drops on the users computer on a click or impression communicates with the tracking pixel at the end of the Advertiser purchase process and allocates your commission accordingly. The v= number in each of the Affiliate tags (eg below) is your unique ID number. Sample tag: <ahref="http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=1002588&k=[NETWORKID]" target="_blank">[YOUR TEXT HERE]</a> |
What is a 'cookie'? A 'cookie' is a type of virtual 'bookmark'. Every time a visitor clicks through to an advertiser's website from one of your links, a 'cookie' is dropped onto the user’s machine. If the user eventually arrives at the order confirmation page (or action page) this cookie is read and the sale is attributed to the publisher whose link was clicked. Our tracking cookie is labeled s2d6.com |
What is EPC (average earnings per click)? EPC is a metric to guide publishers on choosing a program to join as opposed to the actual payment a publisher is being credited for. You can use EPC data as a hint on which program you can earn the most. It represents a relative rating that illustrates the ability to convert clicks into commissions. |
What are pending & validated sales? Sales that are tracked through dgmPro are initially listed as pending sales. They will remain pending until the advertiser validates the sale (to confirm it is legitimate). Some pending sales may not be validated due to reasons such as fraudulent credit card details, lack of stock, the order placed was subsequently cancelled, the goods were returned, etc. We endeavor to have all pending sales approved within 21 days but please be aware that some advertisers can take longer than others. |
When are affiliate payments made? Affiliate payments are made on the 20th of every month. The payment represents commissions earned two months prior, for example if you were to earn commissions in June these commissions would be paid on August 20th. In order to receive payment it is necessary to earn over the $100 threshold. Once payment has been received it is necessary to earn over the threshold again before another payment will be made. |
What are the best campaigns to promote? It depends on the traffic that your site receives. You need to select campaigns that appeal to your traffic and will entice your traffic to not only click through to the advertisers site but also carry out the action that qualifies a commission, in most instances a purchase. We do have campaigns in the same category and to decide which of these campaigns you should promote go to www.dgmnews.com where you will find information on the best performers. |
Can dgm merchant links & banners be placed in emails and newsletters? Yes. This can be an effective way to monetise your mail database. However you should be sending ads that are relevant to protect your database and maximise your earnings. Importantly, you may only include our offers if the members have chosen to receive mail from you. You must adhere to the spam guidelines. If you are found to be sending out 'spam' you will be dropped from our network and all commissions will be forfeited. |

How do the dgmPro links work? Below are instructions on how our links work and how you can edit them for personal use. You can download your banner code in 3 different formats, standard, as an iframe and javascript. The standard format allows multiple gif creatives to be rotated in the same content unit (standard tags do not support rich media however). The iframe format allows multiple creatives to be rotated in the same content unit, including rich media creative. You can download whichever format you need. Explanation of parameters x= This identifies the type of link for dgm (do not change) The only parameter which you should alter is the r=[RANDOM] parameter. This allows publishers to add a unique numeric string which helps cache busting to aid the weighting and rotation of multiple banners in the same content unit. You can leave this parameter set to 0 for any content unit which only has one creative element. Additional parameters k= to add a network ID The network ID parameter (k=) can be used in either standard or iframe banner code to track additional information. You can add any alphanumeric string (such as website of origin, ppc keyword etc.) which then appears in your dgmPro reports. The deeplink parameter (t=) should only be used for the standard banner code. It will allow you to overwrite the normal delivery URL for the banner, but should not be used for the iframe code where multiple creative elements are being used. |
Can I add my own tracking to the dgm tracking URL? Use the Network ID field in the tracking URL to add information that will help you track sales. The information added to the URL is decided by the publisher, but could be the site from where the click originated or the keyword used (if Pay per Click is being used). This information is then reported in the publishers reports. Example: <a href="http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=1002588&k=computer" target="_blank">[YOUR TEXT HERE]</a> When selecting your reporting parameters tick the Network ID option to generate this information in your reports. |
How can I create deeplinks on dgmPro? 1. Pick up a section of the campaign text link URL- (Highlighted in red) This includes your ID 2. Then you type in &t= (Highlighted in Purple ) 3. Then you go to the campaign website click on the product you want to link straight to and copy the URL in the browser (Highlighted in Orange) http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=1158739&t=http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/desktops?c=au&cs=audhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn |
Can I test if the text links or banners I added to my site are tracking correctly? You have implemented the text links or banners correctly if you can see our s2d6 cookie drop in your browser after clicking on the banner or text link. Firefox: If our s2d6 cookie is present then the banner or link has been implemented correctly. 1. Clear your cookies - click on 'Tools' in the top menu then 'Delete Browsing History" 2. Click on your banner – you should land on the client webpage 3. In Internet Explorer – click on ‘View’ in the top menu 4. Click on ‘Web Page Privacy Policy’ The report should show your tracking tag within the top few lines, as per the example below. |
How long after a click through can I still earn commission? Once someone clicks through to an advertiser from your banner, a 'cookie' will be placed on their machine. This will be valid for a number of days depending on the campaign. The summary box on the advertiser info page will give you this information. Standard cookie lengths are approx. 30 days meaning that publishers can earn commission for up to 30 days after someone has clicked on their creative provided the user does not acquire any other publisher cookies in the meantime. The general rule is last click wins. So the last cookie dropped on a users machine is awarded the sale. ![]() |

Why are some campaigns 3rd party tracked? Some of our campaigns are tracked by a 3rd party provider such as Atlas or Double Click. Campaigns use 3rd party tracking mainly because the advertiser has an agency who managers all of their marketing spend and many of these agencies will use one of the 3rd party tracking agencies across all of their online activity. If they don’t use the same tracking for all of their online activity then all the data won’t sync with their other online reporting, such as their media banner reports. |
How do I add the 3rd party tracking tag to the dgmPro tag? Once you are approved to join a 3rd party tracked campaign the account manager will send you the 3rd party tracking tags that you must add to the tracking tag from dgmPro. An example 3rd party tracking tag looks like this: FOR TEXT LINKS: http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=123456789 You then need add &t= to the end of the link, and then add the 3rd party (doubleclick in this example) tag that’s been provided to you by the account manager for the specific campaign. So in the above example it would be: http://www .s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=123456789&t=http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;123456789;123456789;w < a href="http://www. s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=123456789&r=[RANDOM]&k=[NETWORKID]" target="_blank"> You then need to replace this bit from the href: [RANDOM]&k=[NETWORKID] with 0&t= and then add the Double Click tag that’s been provided to you by the account manager for that product. So in the above example it would be: < a href="http://www. s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=123456789&r=0&t=http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;123456789;123456789" target="_blank"> FOR iFRAME: <iframe src="http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=i&z=i&v=840796&r=[RANDOM]&k=[NETWORKID]" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" width="300" height="250"> You need to replace this bit [RANDOM]&k=[NETWORKID] from each line of code with 0&t= and then add the Double Click tag that’s been provided to you by the account manager for that product. So in the above example it would be: <iframe src="http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=i&z=i&v=840796&r=0&t=http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;123456789;123456789" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" width="300" height="250"> |
Can I use the k=[NETWORKID] field in 3rd party tracked campaigns? You cannot use the [NETWORKID] field in 3rd party tracked campaigns as the 3rd party tracking tag only works when it is connected with the dgmPro tag after the v=number. ie: http://www .s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&v=123456789&t=http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;123456789;123456789;w |
What do I do if I have lost my username & password? If you have mislaid your login details please contact affiliatesupport@dgm-au.com with any additional information that you used to join dgmPro. |
What are some of the reasons why I would be rejected from joining a campaign? Sometimes you may find that your site is not accepted to join certain affiliate campaigns. Generally the main reason is that we cannot see the relevance of your site to the certain campaign and therefore we do not see the campaign making you any money. As affiliate marketing is based on the Cost Per Action model it is critical that the campaigns you promote appeal to your traffic or it is likely that you will not make any money. It is at dgm’s/the advertiser discretion to decide if their brand should be associated with the content on your web site. |
